This unique course is designed to immerse students in Spanish language and Spaniard culture and traditions during Christmas, through class instruction, excursions and cultural acitivities. Curriculum is aimed at providing students with a comprehensive educational learning experience of Christmas in Spain.
- Immersion in Spanish language: 20 classes per week
- Accelerated learning: 5 to 6 students per class (max 10)

The course is 1-2 weeks long. For accelerated learning, our classes are specifically reduced to 5 to 6 students per class (maximum of 9). This ensures that students have opportunity to actively participate in class and learn what is being taught at a rapid rate.
The program integrates the four language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening. In addition to these skills, grammatical structures are emphasized to enable the student to attain communicative proficiency. As learning a language is a dynamic process, aims of this program is for total immersion in the language itself. Curriculum is specially designed according to the different needs of each level of proficiency and duration of the course. Classwork using everyday topics with communicative teaching methods ensure that students achieve the goals of each course and progress rapidly.

At the start of the program, participants are provided their class times. Classes are held everyday from Monday to Friday. Ninety percent of classes are held in the mornings, however, some classes are scheduled in the afternoons due to the number of participants their Spanish levels. Each class is 55 minutes long with a 5 minute break.
In each location, there are 6 main Spanish proficiency levels that are further divided: Beginner, Elementary, Intermediate, Advanced and Proficient. All the levels, with the exception of the Proficient level, are sub-divided into 3 groups containing a higher, medium and lower level.
First, participants are placed according to the level proficiency level they indicate on the application form. At the start of the program, non-beginners take a written and oral placement test. Second placements are made according to the results of the placement tests. Placement test are held between 9:00 and 9:30am on the first Monday of the program. Classes start immediately after the tests are completed. When participants start classes in a new location, they will take a placement test, giving the opportunity to progress to a higher level based on their progress.
TOTAL BEGINNER
This level is for those who have never learned Spanish or who have learned a few words but cannot express themselves in complete sentences. Classes focus on introducing basic vocabulary, grammar, sentence structures, and simple texts. Phonetics exercises and drills ensure that participants learn correct pronunciation and intonation.
ELEMENTARY
This level is for those who have learned Spanish, have a grasp of simple sentence structures, and have learned basic grammar systematically. Classes focus on improving participants' vocabulary, syntax, listening, reading, and speaking skills. Written exercises include composing simple letters, short essays, and reports. Phonetics exercises and drills ensure that participants learn correct pronunciation and intonation. Class work includes topics on Spanish culture and society and participants are encouraged to converse on daily topics and express themselves using elementary sentence structures.
INTERMEDIATE (1 & 2)
This level is for those who are able to converse on general topics and express themselves using elementary Spanish. Classes build on grammar and vocabulary, which enable participants to express themselves functionally in different contexts. Class work topics on Spanish current events, civilization, and literature build vocabulary and provide a greater awareness of Spanish culture and society. Emphasis is placed on participants' writing, oral expression, and listening comprehension skills. Intermediate grammar and syntax is taught. Oral expression skills include discussions of current events on various subjects. Exercises to improve writing, speaking, and grammatical skills include writing reports, letters, narratives, and essays. Phonetics exercises and drills ensure that participants quickly master correct pronunciation.
ADVANCED
This level is for those who can discuss general topics, raise complex questions, and express their viewpoints clearly using correct pronunciation. Participants can express themselves systematically using appropriate expressions and language norms. The curriculum is focused on enabling participants to express themselves effectively using complex sentence structures. Course literature includes Spanish nonfiction and articles. Advanced writing and oral expression styles and techniques are used to improve writing skills and provide oral expression fluency. These include commentaries and essays to improve written expression, and exercises in speech making or debates to build fluency in oral expression.
PROFICIENT
This level is for those who posses a high command of the Spanish language and culture and are able to converse fluently and effectively using appropriate expressions and language norms. The curriculum is focused on enabling participants to master the language and expressing themselves in a proficient manner at an abstract level. Class work focuses on perfecting oral expression and writing skills and developing a global perspective of Spanish culture in relation to participants' particular field of interest.
To ensure a comprehensive learning experience, cultural and social activities and guided excursions are provided free of charge in the Total Program with admission and transportation included at no additional cost. These activities and excursions offer participants a deeper appreciation of Spain's rich and varied culture and traditions. The program and frequency of social and cultural activities held are varied and may include watching Flamenco performances, fiestas, guided visits to cultural and historical sites, museums, monuments, concerts, tapas parties and more. Highly qualified and experienced teachers, all of them holders of a degree in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and additional degrees in specific areas of their teaching for example, Spanish philology, History, Marketing and Tourism. Teaching materials are all included.
Students completing this course successfully will be granted a diploma, which certifies the type of course, the amount of hours studied, and the achieved level of proficiency. Students will also be provided with a report card, which includes a detailed account of the student's progress according to the specific linguistic skills.
